St Brides, half a knight's fee, held by heirs of John de la More' Inquisition post mortem of Gilbert de Clare the younger, 1314, St Brides held by John de Mora by half a knight's fee Tymawr Tymawr and the chief estate in the parish belonged to Rees (William Rees of St Brides was sheriff in 1733, another William Rees of St Brides in 1785) then Burfield or Burghill sold it to Lord Tredegar. It was tenanted in 1870 by Rees Rees father of Mr. H.H. Rees clerk to the guardians of Cardiff. The church The living was long attached to the vicarage of Marshfield and held as a chapelry under that place.
