Based on returns in P.S., pp. 222-33 the parishes of Llanarth and Llanafon appear to have been combined, and Aberystwyth and Llanbadarn Fawr are considered as separate parishes. The figure of 22 parishes does not agree with the Commissioner's statement on page 14 in which he gives a total of 20 parishes (out of 65) without schools. 2. Therefore the grand total is 64 parishes (42 with and 22 without schools) the Commissioner has combined Llanarth and Llan- afon if separated the total would then be 65.
