The figures in P.A. (p. 11) do not quite agree with these given above. The
differences are (a) Llanafon is given as Llanarth, (b) the parishes of Llanbadarn
Fawr and Aberystwyth are combined to give a total of 946 scholars (the difference
appears in the age group over 10 in the P.A. the figure is given as 342, while
in the P.S., as above, it is 341.
4. There appears to be a very slight error here. The estimated figure of 6,846 is
not quite accurate. The method employed was to take half of the 1841 child
population between the ages 5 and 15, and to subtract one-sixth for non-attend-
ance the calculation should then be 8,220 [i.e., half of (8,655 + 7,785)]-1370
[i.e., one-sixth of 8,220] = 6,850.

eter. R.C., pp. 75-6.
