ANNUAL REPORT FOR 1962 WINTER MEETING OVER fifty members attended the Winter Meeting of the Society which was held at the Memorial Hall, Aberaeron, on Saturday afternoon, 24 February. In the absence of the Society's Chairman the Chair was occupied by Councillor E. Glyn Davies, O.B.E., Aberarth. An address, in Welsh, was delivered by Mr. J. Geraint Jenkins, M.A., Assistant Curator at the Welsh Folk Museum, Saint Fagans. His topic was' Rhai o Grefftwyr Traddodiadol Sir Aberteifi' (Some Traditional Craftsmen of Cardiganshire), and this interesting address was illustrated with slides. (See pages 213-30) A vote of thanks to the speaker was proposed by Mr. Evan D. Jones, B.A., F.S.A., Aberystwyth, and seconded by Mr. D. W. Lloyd, J.P., Llanon. At the short business session that followed it was decided that a message be sent to Mr. D. D. Evans, Aberystwyth-the sole surviving founder member of the Society- to wish him a speedy recovery. SPRING MEETING THE Spring Meeting, which was also the Annual General Meeting, was held at the Examination Hall, University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, on Saturday afternoon, 28 April. An attendance of seventy-five was recorded and Mr. Evan D. Jones presided in the unavoidable absence of the Society's Chairman. At the business session the Honorary Secretary (Mr. Dafydd M. Jones) presented an oral report on the work of the Society during 1961. This was adopted and the Honorary Secretary was thanked for his services. The Honorary Treasurer (Mr. H. Morris Roberts) presented the financial report and the Balance Sheet which had been audited by Mr. J. Emrys Jones. This was adopted by the meeting. On the proposition of Councillor E. Glyn Davies, seconded by the Lord Lieutenant, Captain J. Hext Lewes, O.B.E., the Honorary Officers were re-elected en bloc. On the proposition of the Reverend Canon David Davies, Aberystwyth, it was resolved that the present Executive Committee be re-elected en bloc. The present Local Correspondents for Aberaeron, Lampeter, Llandysul, and Tregaron were re-elected, and it was proposed that Councillor I. J. C. Radley be invited to act as Local Cor- respondent for Cardigan. A proposal that a husband and wife be accepted into joint-membership of the Society at a reduced rate was adopted on the proposition of Councillor T. G. G. Herbert, M.R.C.V.S., Aberaeron, seconded by Councillor E. Glyn Davies. The question of amending the Society's Constitution so that the Society could have power to hold and administer property was referred to the Executive Committee for consideration, and to submit a report to a meeting of the Society (not of necessity the Annual Meeting). Mr. David Jenkins, M.Sc., of the Department of Extra -Mural Studies, University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, delivered an interesting address on Life in South Cardiganshire Fifty Years Ago.' (See pages 244-54) During the discussion that followed this address, Dr. Mary Williams, London, President of the Folk-lore Society, appealed to the members to assist in the recording of the folk-lore of Wales.
