Tom Davies, 7, Conker being the true confessions of a post- modernist angel with special responsibilities for Wales. (Gomer Press, 1994) ISBN 1 86902 100 X. Pbk. £ 9.95 We would not normally give space to a work of fiction in this journal, but this book includes a historical review of the religious history of Wales, as well as a survey of Wales' current spiritual life, and a geographical sketch of the country. From St David to Evan Roberts, the great names of Welsh religion are seen through the eyes of a journalist, thinly disguised as our national guardian angel. There is much humour, not a little repetition, considerable generalisation and personal opinion. The history is neither original nor detailed. It could make you chuckle or foam at the mouth.
