XLhc IRabnorsbire Society transactions. (; VOL. IX. DECEMBER 19 NINTH ANNUAL REPORT. 1. The Outbreak of War will necessarily restrict the activities of the Radnorshire Society, especially during the winter months It will be impossible to hold lectures under present conditions The Executive Committee has, however, decided to publish the Transactions as usual as there is sufficient material available for the purpose. It is hoped that all the members will maintain their interest in the Society during the period of crisis, so that our work can be fully resumed immediately normal conditions return. 2 Members, The number of members on our Register at the end of the year September, 1938. was 188. During the year ended September, 1939, we have lost 4 members. Three/members resigned and one died. Seven new members have been enrolled, so that our present membership is 191. There are some members whose subscriptions are in arrears and we would remind all members that when subscriptions are three years in arrear their membership lapses. Each such member will receive a reminder from the Secretaries and we do trust that no one will discontinue their support at the present time. The Committee are very grateful to those who have introduced new members and wish to obtain the support of all who are interested in the history of the County. 3. Obituary. Mr. David Morris of the National School, Llandrindod Wells, was the only member who died during the past year. Mr. Morris was a regular attendant at all Lectures and was always ready to assist the Society in any way he could. He had done much public service in the town of Llandrindod Wells and had been Chairman of the Urban District Council two years ago. 4. Finance. The Statement is presented on a later page and it shows that our position is quite satisfactory in this respect.
