(c) The Rev. W. H. Evans, of Staple Morden, Cambridge- shire, who had roots in Radnorshire had been a member for many years. (d) Miss Muriel Lewis, of Montpellier Park, Llandrindod, joined the Society when it was first formed and took a real interest in all our work. (e) Mr. D. E. R. Griffiiths, late of Highbury, Llanyre, and later of Llandrindod Wells, was also a member since 1931. He was a native of North Breconshire and a Welsh speaking Welshman. His interest in the life of these regions and in the adjoining parts of Radnorshire was unabated until the end of his life. (/) The loss of Mr. E. Vincent Thomas, of Knighton, is felt not only in our own ranks but in the public life of the county. He represented one of the Knighton Divisions of the County Council for years. He was a most popular member of this body and he brought to every discussion a charm of manner and expression which eased many difficulties. He was a most enthu- siastic member and was the means of bringing many new members into the Society. (g) Miss Caroline Coates had been a member from the earliest days and we offer her two sisters our deepest sympathy in their loss. 5. Col. Drage has again been kind to us by giving to the Library 3 Volumes of Dugdale's Monasticon. A very valuable addition to our shelves. 6. The financial statement in this volume shows that our balance is lower. This is due to the added cost of Printing the Transactions and the blocks which were provided in Volume xv. That volume cost about 6/- to print. The cost tends to increase gradually but the membership fees do assist in making it possible to carry on, although the figure charged for many years is not an economic one.
