332 (RADNOR) FIELD BATTERY ROYAL ARTILLERY. By Major T. V. Anderson and Sergeant Lyn Howarth. T TNTIL July 1939 Radnorshire provided as a Territorial Army unit the 332nd Field Battery as part of the 83rd Field Regiment which had its headquarters at Newport, Mon. At training camp in 1939, this Regiment was duplicated in accordance with the policy of strengthening the Territorial Army. The new Regiment was the 133rd Field Regiment, and Radnorshire's Battery formed one half of this Regiment, the other Battery being its old friends and rivals, 331st Battery from Panteg, Pontypool. Under this new scheme, fittingly launched with a 133rd celebration at camp, the Radnor Battery had its Headquarters and one troop at Llandrindod Wells and a troop each at Knighton and Presteign. Preparations were made for the re-organisation of the Battery in its home stations but the paper work was hardly completed when the war came and the Territorial Army was mobilised.
