Wits: John Bedw, John Weaver, M'dd ap David, John ap Owen. This man appears in the Presteigne Subsidies for 1550 and 1551 and in jury lists of 1552/3 as 'Johannes Luyde, corveser.' There was a contemporary 'John Lide Goch' and the name is found frequently in early Presteigne records in the forms here given, or as Lyde,’ ‘ Alyde' and Lydd: John Alyde, bocher,' of Presteigne (Will dated 2 December, 1544) was of this family.
