In the subsidies of 3 Edward VI (E.179.224/561) and Elizabeth's first year (E.179.224/564) he stands assessed each time at £ 10 in goods (asst. 10s.). One of his sons-in-law was Clement Price of Coedgwgan, Sheriff in 1587 & 1593/4, whose heir James seems to have been a favoured grandson. It is impossible to reconcile the total monetary legacies with the amount of money out on mortgage.
