This reaction applies as much to the University of Wales product brought up in the stultifying atmosphere of a glorified County School as to the young man who might have been a leading light at the Oxford Celtic Society a couple of years ago. We meet the same viewpoint again and again in correspondence with all who show a deep concern and we feel it would be extremely unwise even for high civil servants at the policy directing level to ignore this resistance at the present state of things in Wales. There are plenty of middle-class stooges around, of course. There is also a body of opinion, especially among readers of Welsh papers, who are, if anything, over-critical and quick to spot any sliding over of argument in Reviews. The stooges no doubt will always command paper.
