Education Act 'compels' children to go to school, but I suppose they agree that compelling Welsh children to speak English is in order. We Welsh parents are not denying our children the right to learn and speak English. We find that through the Welsh schools they have a greater appreciation of their own, and of the beautiful English language. Let us remember, that even the English, the ones who care, even they are fighting to preserve the language of Milton and Shakespeare, through the Third Programme for example. You do not preserve the glory and beauty of a language by numbers. We are all for preserving all cultures and languages-including our own.
