Grant from the Nature Conservancy. The Council of the Society gratefully acknowledges the assistance of the Nature Conservancy which has agreed to make a grant to the W.W.F.S. of £ 100 per annum for three years towards the expenses of the Mayflower and her volunteer crew of seal-markers. In view of this assistance it is hoped to spend longer at sea this autumn, in an endeavour to mark more of the 3/400 young seals which are born annually on West Wales beaches. Seal Adoption Scheme. This remains open, and some seals ringed by the Society still await adoption. For 5s. the adopter receives a photograph of a young seal being ringed, with the number and particulars of a seal. If this seal is reported at any time, the adopter is informed. Seal adoption cards are purchasable from the Seal Adoption Scheme, West Wales Field Society, Orielton, Pembroke.
