FIELD STUDIES COUNCIL RESIDENTIAL COURSES (mostly one week) are held from early March to late October in a wide range of FIELD STUDIES at the following Centres:- FLATFORD MILL FIELD CENTRE, near Colchester, Essex. JUNIPER HALL FIELD CENTRE, near Dorking, Surrey. MALHAM TARN FIELD CENTRE, near Settle. Yorks. DALE FORT FIELD CENTRE, near Haverfordwest, Pembs. PRESTON MONTFORD FIELD CENTRE, near Shrewsbury, Salop. SKOKHOLM BIRD OBSERVATORY (which accommodates about eight visitors) is also administered from Dale Fort. Many of the Courses are particularly designed for the amateur naturalist. Working facilities are also available for those wishing to work independently. Single or double-rooms can usually be reserved on request. Beginners as well as experienced students and research workers are welcome. Programmes for 1957 are available.
