Glam. one off Whiteford Pt., 7 Dec. Mon. one at Llandegfedd Res. on four dates in the period 14-28 Dec. Great Northern Diver Gavia immer. Recorded irregularly in coastal counties from A ng. to Mon.; mostly in mid-winter (but up to 9 May in Caern. and 25 May in Pern.), with autumn arrival in Oct. Red-throated Diver Gavia stellata. Recorded at many coastal sites Den. to Glam.; usually from Oct. and up to May, though one off Tenby, Pem. 11-12 July and one at Burry Port, Carm. on 14 June. Numbers normally low, but 28 off Borth/Ynyslas, Card. on 14 Nov. Great Crested Grebe Podiceps cristatus. Breeding pairs: Ang. 22; Caern. 0; Den. 5; Flint?; Mer. 1; Mont. 10; Card. 0; Rad. 1; Brec. 6; Pem. 0; Carm. 2; Glam. 2; Mon. 0. Many non-breeders were also present at a wide scatter of sites. Maximum of 277 at the moult assembly at Traeth Lafan, Caern. on 7 Sep, and regularly recorded ofshore up to May and from Sep. in coastal counties: 104 at Borth/Ynyslas, Card. on 20 Dec. and 32 at Llandegfedd Res., Mon. in Nov.-Dec. Red-necked Grebe Podiceps grisegena. Ang. one Dulas Bay, 12 Jan. and one Beaumaris, 9 Dec. Caern. one Llanfairfechan, 19 Feb. Brec. one Talybont, 17 Feb. Carm. one off Burry Port, 26 Jan. and one Gwendraeth estuary, 22 Nov. Glam. one Whiteford Pt., 30 Dec. Slavonian Grebe Podiceps auritus. Regular though uncommon up to Mar. and from Nov., Caern. round to Glam.; up to six at one site in Ang. One at Llangorse, Brec. on 25 Sep. and four records, Jan. and Dec. at Llandegfedd Res., Mon. Black-necked Grebe Podiceps nigricollis. Scattered records, usually of one or two birds, Den. round to Glam. up to Mar. and from Oct.; though singles
