ASSOCIATION OF TRUSTS FOR NATURE CONSERVATION IN WALES FUNCTIONS The Association of Trusts for Nature Conservation in Wales was established in 1975 with the object of bringing together representatives of Naturalists' Trusts in order to consider matters of general interest relating to wildlife and nature conservation in Wales, and to act for Trusts in matters of common concern, where this is agreed to be desirable. fhe Association is represented on the Society for the Promotion of Nature Conservation, the Welsh Environment Forum of the Prince of Wales' Committee, the Water Liaison Committee and the Regional Fishery, Recreation and Amenity Advisory Committee of the Welsh Water Authority. Each Naturalists' Trust in Wales appoints four representatives to serve on the Association. The Chairman is Professor William S. Lacey, of University College, Bangor, and the Honorary Secretary is Mr Eric Bartlett, Chapel House, Llechfaen, Brecon. The constituent bodies of the Association are:- Brecknock Naturalists' Trust Glamorgan Naturalists' Trust Gwent Trust for Nature Conservation Hereford & Radnor Naturalists' Trust North Wales Naturalists' Trust West Wales Naturalists' Trust The Association held its first meeting of the year at Gregynog, Mont- gomeryshire, on April 15th. Representatives of Brecon, Gwent, North Wales, Radnor and Hereford, and the West Wales Trusts attended. The following elections for 1978 were made: Chairman: Professor W. S. Lacey (North Wales) Secretary: Mr. E. Bartlett (Brecon) Representatives to the Welsh Environment Forum of the Prince of Wales Committee: Mrs. M. J. Morgan (North Wales) Mr. E. Bartlett (Brecon) Mrs. W. Weston (Glamorgan) Representative on the Brecon Beacons National Park Land Management Advisory Group: Mrs. S. Leitch (Brecon). Points from the meeting: 1. Mr. D. Thomas reported on the Bardsey Appeal. It was agreed that Mr. Thomas should represent the new Bardsey Island Trust as an observer at A.T.N.C.W. meetings. 2. A short document prepared by the Secretary on the functions of the Association was approved and is now available for information and publicity. 3. The new WATCH Trust for Environmental Education was discussed in some detail. So far four of the Welsh Trusts have decided to participate in the scheme.
