BANC Yet another word has appeared to bombard the conservaton scene BANC. The British Association of Nature Conservationists was formed last year to overcome the "them and us" attitudes which not infrequently bedevil communications between statutory and voluntary bodies with a concern for nature conservation. Its aims are to bring together not only naturalists and nature conservationists but also earth, life and social scientists, environmental educationalists and planners. Their means of communication will be through meetings, seminars and their quarterly journal Ecos. If your interests encompass nature reserves and their selection, National Parks, pollution, conservation versus other land uses, environmental education, ecosystem management, politics or ecology applied to conservation or the law and species protection then perhaps it might be worth investing a little interest in this banc by writing to N.J. Pinder, 57 Cambridge Street, Norwich. F.M.S.
