(i) Bibliographies and bibliographic studies The major bibliographic guide to books and papers describing aspects of the natural history of Wales is Bibliotheca Celtica. A register of publications relating to Wales. published continuously by the National Library since 1907. The most recent issues, for the periods 1973-76 and 1977-80, were published in 1981 and 1985, respectively. References are subdivided into sections on geology, botany, zoology, etc. Material in the complementary series, Subject index to Welsh periodicals, is presented in two sections: the first an alphabetical subject index to articles; the second an index arranged by names of authors. The Index includes all the major items in Nature in Wales. The most recent issue, for 1977-1980, is due to be published in autumn 1986. The thesis A guide to the literature of Welsh Natural History, including material relating to Wales or written in the Welsh language a very elaborate annotated list to books, mono- graphs and pamphlets-submitted by Raymond B. Davies for a Fellowship of the Library Association in 1981, has, unfortunate- ly, still not been published. Library Association. 1958.
