Minerva has gained a readership among antique lovers because of its articles on local ceramics. This year, both a definitive and well illustrated article on Mocha ware and a biographical sketch of the ceramics collector Kildare Meager are original con- tributions to this field. However, with this reputation in mind, apologies are due to Glynda and Neil Speed for the poor reproduction of their photographs of some hitherto unrecorded shapes and patterns of Swansea china in Minerva 5. Mr. and Mrs. Speed have now com- missioned new photos of these items, which we are happy to print this year. Other articles in Minerva 6 introduce a variety of Swansea personalities, including local artists, businessmen and clerics, and one presents a chilling, though hypothetical, alternative to the post-war re-development of Swansea. My thanks go to all con- tributors and to our new printers, Gwasg Dinefwr Press. EDITORIAL Plate transfer printed in puce and marked 'Dillwyn & Co. Swansea'. 14.6 cm. diam. Jennifer Sabine
