Notes and Queries. QUERIES. Query 35.­Will any reader give information as to a book called, 'The Wild Irishman,' containing matter relating to Llangadock (Carmarthenshire) and neighbourhood ? Dyoll. Query 36.-1 have never yet seen or heard of a single extant copy of Y Phonographwr.' Can any reader give me particulars of its birth and demise ? W. J. C. Query 37.-The British Museum copy of the Cofrestr of Moses Williams (8vo. Llundain, 1717) contains copious MS. notes. Wil- liams's library passed by will to the Earl of Macclesfield, and formed part of the Shirburn Castle collection. Has a catalogue appeared in print ? D. H. Query 38.-Who was the author of the ballad, Y bwthyn bach to gwellt '? CWM HWNT. Query 39.-When was printing by steam power introduced into Wales? Query 40.-Arthur Young visited South Wales in 1767, and wrote of the state of agriculture in Llanfaches, Newport, Cowbridge, and Bridgend. Query 41.­What is known of John Williams, of Llanrhaiadr Mochnant, to whom Robert Vaughan addresses a letter 9th July, 1658, concerning my Paraphrase on the Triades,' afterwards known as Hengwrt MS. 164? Cwm HWNT. Query 42. — In his version of Y ddadl ar Fedydd a fu yn Rumni, 1841, the Rev. E. R. Owens of Llangynidr tells the reader that his original copy was placed in the hands of a printer named Stephenson (' a Sprinkler'), who, instead of following out h& instructions, picked out and printed only the passages which himself liked, attaching E. R. Owens' name to the compilation. Owens prohibited the publication and sale of the work, and forthwith printed the original copy. Has anyone seen the version printed by Stephenson, and who was he ? D. R. P. Query 43.-Who was the translator of Egwyddorion a dyled- swyddau y grefydd Grist'nogawl, by T. Wilson, D.D., Bishop of Sodor and Man, printed at Shrewsbury in 1752 by J. Eddowes and J. Cotton ? The translator's preface, subscribed Lleyn, Mai y Cyntaf, 1752,' gives the information that this was the first book to be printed in the Manx language. Eiaan VANNIN.
