Blore also refers to authorities that claim Stitenham, in Yorkshire, and Brabone, in Kent, as the poet's birth-place. Has this question been discussed by Welsh historians at all ? The name Gower topographically is so closely associated with Wales, as a form of Gwyr probably, that there would be a strong presumption for the personal name also to be associated with Wales, and when that presumption is strengthened by such old statements as the above borne in Walys,' does the presumption not become a probability ? The members were received at 5.0 p.m. by Mrs. Henry Folland of Llwynderw (" Lili'r Dyffryn "), who generously entertained her guests to an excellent tea.
