Report of the Annual Meeting, 1939 THE Denbigh National Eisteddfod Committee having created an innovation this year by erecting a small Pavilion for holding all subsidiary meetings in connection with the Eisteddfod, our own annual meeting was con- veniently held there for the first time within the grounds of the national festival. Tea was generously provided by the Lord Bishop of St. Asaph, who was present and greatly enjoyed the proceedings. The Council met at 4 p.m. There were present:- Sir John E. Lloyd (President), Mr. T. E. Morris (Chairman), The Reverend Ellis Davies, Mr. E. Walter Rees, Mr. W. Llewelyn Davies (Editor), Mr. D. Caradog Evans, Mrs. E. Harris, Mr. D. R. Hughes, Professor Ernest Hughes, Dr. R. T. Jenkins, The Reverend T. Llechid Jones, Mr. Bob Owen, Dr. Thos. Richards, The Reverend D. Eurof Walters, Dr. Ifor Williams, Mr. W. Gilbert Williams, and the Hon. Secretary. Sorrow was expressed at the death of several members of the Society during the year, among them one of the Vice-Presidents, the widely-respected Bishop of Llandaff (who entertained the Society at Neath in 1934), The Reverend D. D. Williams (Liverpool), The Reverend G. Bedford Roberts, and Mr. John Davies, Aberystwyth, formerly of the National Library of Wales. The Editor having introduced the question of the language of the Journal, the President observed that the policy followed in the Bulletin of the University of Wales Board of Celtic Studies answered well, purely Welsh subjects being discussed in the native language, and matters of wider cultural appeal in English.
