Editorial! Golygyddol J^Sfa^etmiiTion with many other societies which publish scholarly periodic- als, the Welsh Bibliographical Society during the last five or six years has found itself increasingly unable to gather sufficient income from sales and subscriptions in order properly to finance its Journal on a regular basis. There has, therefore, been a long delay in the publication of this current issue, Volume XII, no. 1, 1984. The previous issue was a combined issue, Volume XI, nos. 3-4, bearing the date 1975-76 but actually published during 1977. The Society's Officers are very grateful for the patience and forbearance shown by the subscribers while awaiting the appearance of this issue. The Society's thanks are also due to the officers of Cymdeithas Bob Owen for their kind gesture in making it possible for the contribution by Professor Brynley F. Roberts to appear in this issue of the Journal, and for their practical action in building a bridge between two societies whose aims and interests are so closely interwoven. This issue will be made available to personal and institutional subscribers on the register of the Society at the existing rates of payment, as many have continued to subscribe although no issues were published. (The current rate is £ 1.00 per annum for individuals and £ 2.00 for libraries and other institutions.) But it must be made clear that the Society can no longer survive at such levels of subscription and the Council will be asked to approve substantial increases if the Journal is to continue in its present form. Ar 61 hirlwm o ryw bum mlynedd neu fwy, mae'n bleser gweld rhifyn arall o Gylchgrawn y Gymdeithas Lyfryddol Gymreig yn dod o'r wasg, gan obeithio y gwelir hefyd adfywiad yng ngweithgarwch y Gymdeithas. Mae diolch yn ddyledus i Gymdeithas Bob Owen am hwyluso'r ffordd i gynnwys cyfraniad gwerthfawr Yr Athro Brynley F. Roberts yn y rhifyn hwn, ac am anogaeth ymarferol iawn pan oedd y Gymdeithas Lyfryddol mewn cyflwr digalon. Mae costau argraffu mewn modd confensiynol yn ei gwneud hi'n anodd i lawer o gymdeithasau i gyhoeddi cylchgronau ysgolheigaidd, ac os yw'r Cylchgrawn hwn i barhau, rhaid gofyn i'r Cyngor ystyried codiadau sylweddol yn y tanysgrifiadau. 0 degwch a'r rhai a barhaodd i dalu heb dderbyn rhifynnau am gyfnod hir, ni chodir pris y rhifyn hwn i danysgrifwyr cofrestredig ( £ 1.00 i unigolion a £ 2.00 i sefydliadau). Ond ni fedr y Gymdeithas barhau na ffynnu ar y raddfa hon o danysgrifio. Dymunaf hefyd ddiolch i awduron yr erthyglau am eu hir amynedd wrth aros yn foneddigaidd am weld y rhifyn yn ymddangos. Brynmor Jones (Ysgrifennydd Mygedol)
