THE POWYSLAND CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING, 1901. THE Annual Meeting was held at the Powysland Museum, Welshpool, on Thursday, the 31st of October, when there were present the Earl of Powis (President), in the Chair, the Ven. Archdeacon Thomas, Chairman of the Council and joint editor of the Society's Collections, Capt. Mytton, Mr. Richard Williams, F.R.Hist.S., Mr. Thomas Pryce of Pentreheylin, and Mr. H. H. C. Summers, members, the Mayor (Mr. Charles Shuker), Capt. Genth, Mr. E. D. Rees, Caersws, and Mr. F. E. Marston, with Mr. T. Simpson Jones, hon. secretary and curator. Letters apologizing for absence were received from Mr. A. C. Humphreys-Owen, M.P., Mr. J. Marshall Dugdale, the Rev. T. Owen, Wellington, Mr. D. C. Lloyd Owen, Birmingham, Mr. Morris P. Jones, and Mr. Henry Weyman, Ludlow. The SECRETARY was called upon to read the Annual Report which was as follows Founded in the year 1867, the Club meets this year on its thirty fourth anniversary and although the Collections no longer appear with the frequency and punctuality of former days, they still continue to supply much matter of local interest and value. The current part contains the continuation of the Parochial Histories of Llandysilio and Guilsfield, with a further instalment of the Mallwyd Registers There is also an interesting account of Montgomeryshire Screens and Roodlofts," and members will read with a sad interest the obituary of an honoured member of the Council, a valued contributor to the Collections, and on more than one occasion an active and suggestive participator in our annual discussions, the late Mr. Stanley Leighton, M.P., M.A., F.S A. Into his place on the Council it will be your duty to elect a successor to- day. The following new members have been enrolled since our last meeting :-Mrs. Arbuthnot, Newtown Hall, the Rev. Evan Edwardes, M A., Vicar of Trefeglwys, A. Minshall, Esq., Caxton Press, Oswestry, Francis Temple, Esq., Rhysnant Hall, and their names are submitted for confirmation. Transcripts of the earliest Registers of Trefeglwys, from 1625 to 1690, have been supplied by the Vicar, Mr. Edwardes; and of that of Llanllugan, 1688 to 1702, by the Vicar, Mr. Williams. Dr. Lloyd Owen has also kindly promised to place at the service of the editor his manuscripts of Registers in the Deanery of Cyfeiliog,
