DISCOVERY OF BRONZE AXE-HEADS NEAR DINAS MAWDDWY. AN interesting find of ancient bronze implements was made early in June last by a young fellow named Brown while cutting peat on his master's sheep-walk, situated on Tanyglanau Mountain, Cwmdugoed, hard by Llidiart-y-Barwn, some twelve miles from Machyn- lleth. Brown was busy with his peat-iron, when he suddenly came upon a hard substance, which gave forth a metallic sound. His curiosity aroused, the lad unearthed his find. He rubbed the dirt off, and after- wards scraped it. Seeing that it was composed of a pale yellow metal, much corroded, he determined to search for more. His efforts were rewarded with success. Altogether, he found eighteen bronze axe- heads, of three different sizes, and all in splendid fpre- servation. Two of them I have carefully handled and examined. The larger of the two is 7 t inches in length, with an edge of 2t inches. The shorter one is 6 inches long. Both have the loop intact, where the blade springs from the part which entered the wooden handle.
