DEANERY OF POOL. BERRIEW. I. REGISTERS (kept in the safe in the Church):— 1596-1667. Parchment, complete for 1596-1628, has one entry each year for 1635, 1647, 1650, 1660, 1674; a Welsh Englyn in 1609; Churchwardens' accounts, 1638 and 1639. Repairs to Church and Bells re-cast, 1638. 1683-1709. Parchment. In 1695 this heading- The Register Book of the Parish of Beriew, as it is appointed by a Act of Parliament entituled an Act for Granting to his Matie Duties upon Buryings, Christenings Weddings, Widdow" & Batchelors, &c, for carrying on the Warr agt ffrance with vigour and to continue for five years. There is a List of Legacies to the Parish, and the Si quis of Jenkin Williams of this parish, 1700; "Si quis" of Richard Morris of St. John's College, Oxford, 1701 (son of R. of Berriew), Vicar of Berriew, 1711. 1709-1749.
