ADDITIONAL NOTES ON THE FAMILY OF GRIFFITHS OF TIRYMYNECH, TREDERWEN AND KEEL, MONGOMERYSHIRE. THE pedigree of Griffith ap Deio ap Iorwerth of Guilsfield Parish, with whom the Herald Lewis Dwnn, in 1611, began his pedigree of Griffiths of Tirymynech, Guilsfield, is given in the Cedwyn MSS., under Edwards of Hendrehen: as follows:- Griffith alias Guttyn ap Deio ap Iorwerth was son to leva ap Adda ap Einion ap Gwyn ap Griffith, Lord of Guilsfield (Head of the 5th and last Cystoglwyth of Wales). Griffith alias Guttyn married (about 1495) Deili d. of leuan Lloyd ap David ap Phillip Goch of Vaynor, ap Howel ap Llewelyn ap Meilir Gryg, brother to Gwyn ap Griffith ot Garth. The Parish Register of Guilsfield always calls Griffith ap Deio ap Iorwerth by his alia, "Guttyn," as follows Griffith ap Evan ap Guttyn of Tirymynech, gen., buried 1593. Elizabeth verch John (ap Dd.) wife of Griffith ap Evan ap Guttyn buried 1575 (cf Lewis Dwnn's pedigree). David ap Roger ap Evan ap Guttyn bd. 1585. Owen ap Roger ap Evan ap Guttyn bd. 1583. Griffith ap Evan, gent. (Griffith ap Evan ap Griffith, ali'is Guttyn ap Daio ap Iorwerth), was witness of the Will of William Phillips, gent., of Tirymynech, dated 1586. For Corbet and Phillips see below. The names of the children of Roger ap Griffith ap Evan are all marked in the Register of Guilsfield with a 00, presumably by Lewis Dwnn, the Herald. The following entries also bear this mark Richard son of Evan Davies bapt. 1607 Evan Davies (? his son) was clerk to John Vaughan of (Trederwen, vide his Will seq).
