Charles Powell was a son of Richard Powell, who married Katherine, daughter of Hugh Powell of Ednop, and he (Richard) was a brother of David Powell of Weston. Chas. Powell had a cousin, William, the son of his uncle, Arthur Powell, who may be the William Powell mentioned in the Will. In the old Deed you will see that Ty Richard Powell" was part of the property. This led me to suppose that William Powell of Dyffryn Llanvair was a son of Richard Powell of Dyffryn Llanvair, who was on a Grand Jury in 1634, and who is probably identical with Richard Powell who married Katherine, daughter of Hugh Powell of Ednop. If I could see the Will of Richard Powell (which I have failed to discover) the question would be solved. The Parish Registers have, so far, not helped me but I have not been able to make a thorough search.
