Claims of Master William de Esington, late Chamber- lain of Chester, upon his accounts from the Feast of St. Michael in the 19th year of the reign of King Edward, son of King Edward, to the same Feast of St. Michael in the 20th year of the said King Edward, and from the said Feast of St. Michael to the Feast of St. Thomas the Apostle next following. [Sep. 29, 1325-Dec. 21, 1326]. [The items deal indiscriminately with Cheshire and Flintshire Accounts. The Flintshire items are extracted as follows., He prays that he be discharged of 16I. on account of the meadow of Craghenagh for which he is charged in his account because it was mowed in the said year. and the hay of the same was carted to Rothelan Castle and there set in cocks by order of Sir Richard Dammary then Justiciar, and left there, so that he received nothing and had nothing, and he prays that inquiry be made. Also, he prays that he be discharged of 26s. 8d. for which he was charged on account of the issues of the forest of Baghegrek which was in the Lord Earl's hands because it was ill guarded in the hands of the farmer; and although it was usually let at farm for 26s. 8d. per annum, with which he is charged in his account for the 19th year, he received nothing thereof and could receive nothing. And he seeks that inquiry be made.
