JOURNAL: Volume 22, dated 1965-6, appeared in the spring of 1967. The current volume. 23 to be dated 1967, is in the Editor's hands, and members should receive their free copy in the summer of this coining year. Papers include Mr. J. E. Messham's notable contribution to Flint- shire research Flintshire in the time of Owain Glyndwr and papers by Mr. Peter Hayes on the Older Cottages of the Hawarden area, and by Mr. George Lloyd on the Canalisation of the River Dee, etc., etc. EXCAVATIONS: Hen Caerwys continued to develop in an interesting way under Means. T T. Pennant-Williams, F.S.A. and George Leach, M.A., F.S.A. Foot-and-mouth disease stopped progress in the winter. A Hawarden group, with Mr. L. J. Walls as Secretary and Organiser, continued with the old project of a survey of the cairn cemetery on the frontiers of Coed Clwyd, near the path to Moel Fammau. Mr. R. E. Boom made some important disoovereis at Ffrith. All these dip will continue in 1968. There are prospects for a further season at Moel Hiraddug hillfort. An important innovation this year is that an inaugural meeting will be held in the spring for the discussion and organisation of excavations. This may be combined with a visit to sites. Invitations will only be sent out to people who send a postcard to M. Bevan-Evans, Springfield, The Highway, HAWARDEN saying that they are interested in digging this summer, and which evenings in the week are convenient for them to attend the inaugural meeting.
