Spurgeon, a member of the Club and a former Officer, who received an award from the Cambrian Archaeological Association for his work on the medieval period; Dr D.H. Williams, a member of the Club and former member of the Council, whose book entitled The Cistercians in the Early Middle Ages, was launched to coincide with the eight-hundredth anniversary of the foundation of the Order.
