Griffith of Llyne, 1642/3, Griffith Jones, Castellmarch, 1642/3, Sir John Owen, Clen- ennau, 1644, and others. An equally important set of Caernarvon borough records includes rentals, 1631-2, 1655-7, 1677, 1711-12 burgess rolls, 1694-1713 view of frankpledge, 1661, 1686, 1690, 1729; presentments, 1694 and a large bundle of papers concerning the petition of the borough against the election of Thomas Wynn, Bodvean, as burgess in 1713. Among the remaining documents in this section are a late sixteenth century muster roll of the militia of the hundred of Menay; some Bulkeley of Baronhill papers, ? 1708-1754, including a bill of complaint against Viscount Bulkeley in connection with the right of presentation to the advowson of Aber, 1753 thirty-two documents of the family of Rowlands of Nant, 1681-1726, including rentals, 1702-11, and a bill of complaint, cases, opinion, etc., in an action between Captain Samuel Wynn and Catherine, his wife, and John Griffith, Caer- narvon, and Margaret, his wife, concerning the will of John Rowlands (1703/4); twelve deeds and documents of Hugh Griffith, Troy, and afterwards Monmouth, 1650-66 and undated, including accounts between him and Sir Charles Somerset, 1650- 63 a group of documents concerning a proposal by co. Anglesey to erect an embank- ment across the Menai Straits at Porthaethwy Ferry, 1783-4 twenty-three docu- ments relating to agitation against the appointment of John Probert, Copthorn, Salop, as an assistant to the Revenue Officers in the Principality of Wales, 1778-9 nineteen documents in divorce proceedings between Sir George and Lady Warren, 1771 genealogical notes on the families of Griffith of Porthamal, Brynodol, Cefn- amwlch, and Penrhyn, Rowlands of Nant, Wynn of Bodewryd, Trygarn of Trygarn, Owen of Clenennau, and others [16th­18th cent.] copies of two indictments for the practice of witchcraft at Llanbedrog, 1616 and 1620; particulars of beer and ale excise paid at Caernarvon, Llanvaire, Aber y pwlle, Llanrwge, Llandeniolen, Bettus, Bethykellert, and Bangor, 1656; a draft petition of the General Sessions of the Peace for Caernarvonshire to the Crown against the petition of Viscount Bulkeley for the grant of a licence to hold two new fairs at Newborough, 1703/4; cases, opinion, and a plan relating to the right of John Griffith to erect a crewe' across the river Gwyrfai in the parish of Llanwnda, 1738/9-1739 a terrier of Llandwrog church, 1729 assessments of Tudweiliog church mize, 1748 and 1757 depositions relating to sitting places in Tudweiliog church occupied by the families of Brynodol and Brynna, 1771 an inventory of agricultural implements, household utensils, and furniture [at Bryn- odol], 1795 numerous vouchers and receipts, 1639-1828; and eighteenth century medical and other recipes. The remainder of the collection (MSS. 116-162), with the exception of a group of thirty-four wills and some printed matter, contains about seven hundred and fifty title deeds, 1367-1828, and forty-six field plans of the estates of Llanfair, Brynodol, Porthamal, Cefnamwlch, Taltreuddyn, Nyffryn, Nant, and Coed Helen. Lloyd-Edwards in 1934, comprises three manuscript volumes and over one thousand personal and estate records of the family of Edwards of Nanhoron, parish of Llangian, co. Caernarvon, and of the associated families of Vaughan of Bronheulog, parish of Llanfairtalhaearn, co. Denbigh, Lloyd of Rhosbeirio, parish of Rhosbeirio, and of Hirdrefaig, parish of Llanfinan, co. Anglesey, Robinson of Monachty, parish of Llanfairynghornwy, co. Anglesey, and of Gwersyllt, co. Denbigh, Jones of Gelliwig, parish of Bryncroes, co. Caernarvon, and Browning of London,
