the Earl of Macclesfield, 18031 lists of hundreds and parishes in Wales lists of physical features in Wales; translations into English and transcripts of poems by Mrs. Felicia Hemans, 1824-6 a catalogue of the poems of Lewis Glyn Cothi, and indexes to the poems of Dafydd ap Gwilym lists and pedigrees of British saints and notes on the aims of the Madogeion Society'. The remainder of the collection consists of miscellaneous manuscript volumes and papers acquired by Owen[-Pughe] from time to time, including an important volume of I cywyddau and cerddi almost entirely unpublished, by Thomas Edwards (' Twm o'r Nant'), Jonathan Hughes, John Thomas (Pentrefoelas), and others, written by Thomas Edwards and presented by him to Owen[-Pughe] in 1809; a collection of Welsh poetry, triads, etc., in the autograph of Iolo Morganwg entitled Gwersi Doethineb yr Hen Gymry 1800; Llyfr Barddoniaeth Sef y Gelfyddyd o ganu Cerdd Dafawd yn dda. 0 Waith Gwilym Canoldref transcribed, with a preface, by Iolo Morganwg', 1806; original Welsh and English poetry by such friends and contemporaries as Robert Davies (' Bardd Nantglyn '), Evan Evans (' Ieuan Fardd '), David Samwell, David Thomas (' Dafydd Ddu Eryri'), James Hughes (' lago Trichrug'), and R. B. Clough Llyfr Gweddi Gyffredin, 1664, with a few manuscript notes by Moses Williams (Defynnock), 1717 a volume of late seventeenth and early eighteenth century sermons delivered at Demeirchion, Llandrillo, and Disserth; printed proposals, signed by Morgan J. Rhees, Thomas Cumpston, and William Griffiths, to form an Actual Settlement' to be known as 'The Cambrian Com- pany, within the United States of America, or the North-Western Territory' [1796]; a transcript by William Jones, Llangadfan, of an address which was handed about at the meeting at Llanrwst', entitled To all indigenous Cambrobritons dealing with the Welsh colony in America, June 13, 1791 two drafts of Plans for exploring the country of the Padoucas, commonly denominated the White, or Welsh Indians', April 22, 1792 a note relating to the Welsh Indians' From Mr. Ben Jones on the Monanghela to his brother the late Dr. Jones of Hammersmith April, 1797 references to omissions and the muta- tion of words, sentences, or verses in the 1620 and 1630 editions of the Welsh Bible, and cor- rections of the 1752 edition, in the autograph of Thomas Charles (Bala); The Manner of their Solemnising their Marriages among the Mechanics, Farmers and Common people in Cardiganshire in the autograph of Lewis Morris a printed notice of a public dinner to be given to Owen[-Pughe] at the Town Hall, Denbigh, January 11, 1834 Rheolau Cymdeithas Gyfeillgar Nantglyn, 1834 twelve circular letters of the Society of Antiquaries, 1793-1806 and undated; an attested copy of a terrier of the glebe lands and tithes of the parish church of Nantglyn, Denbighshire, July 2, 1791 and an agreement for the lease of copper and lead mines under Wenallt, parish of Darowen, co.
