In the very nature of things not much exact knowledge is now available, but one has ventured a sketchy reconstruction of the situation in St. Asaph at the time of the Loyal Address and the Parody, and added comments on related matters further afield. A formal list of references does not appear necessary as the various sources of information are indicated in the text. The original single sheet of rather thick grey paper on which the Parody and the Loyal Address were printed bears the watermark C & S encased in a square and surmounted by a crown and orb.
