Victorian Age, after the great Domesday Book of the 11th century, represent the most detailed and important national inventory to be taken before on our times It is a happy coincidence that this book is published in the year which celebrates the 900th anniversary of Domesday Book and the 150th anniversary of the Tithe Commutation Act which bequeathed the tithe surveys of England and Wales'. It is also a most happy event that the National Library of Wales should have organized such an Exhibition as this (1086-1836-1986). H. C.
