MAEN CHWYFAN (From Flintshire. in the Cambridge Counties Geographies.) Presented by Sir A. Garrod Thomas to the Welsh National Memorial Association for the treatment of Tuberculous children. No. 25, CLYTHA PARK, NEWPORT. Maen Chwyfan is a fine wheel cross of the tenth or the eleventh century and stands in a field in Whitford parish. It is about 12ft. in height. and is the tallest wheel cross in Great Britain. It is ornamented on all four sides. Chwyfan was a Welsh saint to whom Diserth church was dedi- cated.
