4th Nov.-Jan. 1990 High Treason-The Chartist Trials in Monmouth. An exhibition commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Chartist uprising in Monmouth- shire, recording Monmouth's role in the trial of John Frost and other Chartist leaders. Associated activities will include gallery talks, a proposed re-enactment of trial sequences. CHEPSTOW MUSEUM 24th March-30th April 'Forty Fits'-Display featuring 40 items of news from Chepstow 40 years ago, in celebration of the Museum's 40th anniversary. 9th April Opening of a new gallery which looks at the development of Chepstow from Norman times to the present, in terms of buildings, services and communications. A plaque is to be put up to honour Ivor Waters, founder of the Museum which opened on April 9th 1949 in a small room above Chepstow's medieval Town Gate. ABERGAVENNY MUSEUM 1st Feb.-23rd March Hess at Maindiff Court. The days of Rudolph Hess' wartime imprisonment near Abergavenny remembered and recent doubts concerning his true identity aired.
