PUCKRIDGE, M.A. DURING a recent visit to Dublin, an opportunity occurred to examine the manuscript of the 11th Century, known as the Psalter of Ricemarch, which is preserved in the Usher Library of Trinity College. How the manuscript came into the hands of Bishop Usher, whether during his occupation of the Bishopric of Wrexham or that of the Primacy of. Armagh, is not known. The style of the writing and illumination is Irish; but as the writers and decorator were Welsh, it may probably have been added to the Bishop's library during his sojourn in Wales. With the consent of the authorities of Trinity College we were permitted to obtain photographs of six pages, which have been admirably executed by Mr. Greenwood Pim, the reproductions now offered to the members of the society, although somewhat reduced in size, give a good idea of the very charming original, which, as the work of Welshmen of the South-West and men of such high distinction as were Bishop Ricemarch and John of Cardigan in their early period of the 11th Century, must be of interest to their country men of the 20th Century.
