Hogg records a nest found by him in 1922 near the mouth of the River Thaw, thus ante-dating the record in Ornith Notes, 1924-5. OSPREY, Pandion h. haliaetus (L.). Mr. D. Sibbering Jones records that he saw what was apparently an Osprey near the mouth of the River Thaw on May 10th, 1927, but as he had not field-glasses it was not possible to identify it with absolute certainty. HAWFINCH, Coccothraustes c. coccothraustes (L.). Mr. H. M. Thompson saw a Hawfinch at the bird-bath in his garden at Llandaff on April 17th, 1927, also previously on September 11th, 1922.
