ENTOMOLOGICAL NOTES, 1933. By HOWARD M. HALLETT, F.R.E.S. AND F. NORTON. In spite of the very fine weather enjoyed. during the year Insects were not plentiful, particularly amongst the Aculeate Hymenoptera. Perhaps the most noteworthy feature was the abundance of the Death's Head Hawk Moth throughout the County. LEPIDOPTERA. The following species have been added to the County list: Homoeosoma cretacella Rossi. A single example at Taff's Well in August (W. E. Cox). Pyrausta pandalis Hb. One at Taff's Well on June 4th (Cox). Epithectis mouffetella Schiff. Cardiff, one in a moth trap on July 6th (Cox). Chysoclista vinolentella H-S. Not common, damaging apple shoots (Thompson). Mompha subbistrigella Haw. Cardiff, one example on November 21st (Cox). Simaethis pariana Cl. Swansea on apple in July, 1932, not common (H. W. Thompson). Coleophora spissicomis Haw. Radyr, one bred on June 20th (Cox). Lampronia capitella CI. Cardiff, damaging currant in 1932 (Thompson). HYMENOPTERA TENTHREDINOIDEA. The following two species have been added to the County List by Mr. E. B. Britton, B.Sc. Tenthredella balteata Kl. Taff's Well, one example in July. Pamphilius silvaticus L. Taff's Well, one example, also in July. HYMENOPTERA ICHNEUMONOIDEA. The following are additions to the List:- Ichneumon extensorius L. Taff's Well, one male on July 9th (Cox). Amblyteles castanopygus St. Cwrt-yr-ala, one female in June. Stylocryptus vagabundus Gr. Plentiful at Sully, Lavernock and Cwrt-yr-ala in August. Phygadeuon dumetorum Gr. Sully, one male in October. Perithous mediator Fab. Lavernock, frequent about the burrows of Pemphredon lugubris. Exochus lentipes Gr. Llandaff, three females (Cox). Acrotomus lucidulus Gr. Penarth, one male on May 28th. Eulimnerium rufifemur Th. Cardiff district in 1932 (Cox). Dioctes annulipes Bdg. Penarth, one female on May 28th.
