Atkin 12th November: Birds of Northern Greece. Dr. R. J. H. Raines 20th November: Public Showing of R.S.P.B. Film "Highland Birds" in the Reardon Smith Lecture Theatre. 10th December: Members' Evening. 1964 14th January: Birds in Canada. Col. H. M. Salmon 11 th February: Birds in the South Polar Seas. Dr. Mary Gillham 10th March: Members' Evening FIELD MEETINGS: During the year field meetings were arranged to Lavernock Point and Peterstone Wentloog (September), Merthyr Mawr (October), Chew Valley (November), Tregaron (December), Slimbridge (January), Whiteford Point (February), Talybont Reservoir (March), Hensol (April), Park End, Forest of Dean and Rhayader (May), Cwmddu and Flatholm (June) and Elegug Stack (July). Starting in January monthly Saturday afternoon field meetings led by Mrs. Heathcote and Mrs. Collings were arranged to cater for members who are unable to take part in Sunday meetings, and Mr. Philip Atkin continued to take parties around the woods at Dinas Powis on the morning of the first Sunday in the month. For the third year members paid six visits to Pancross Farm in connection with the B.T.O's Breeding Season Census of Common Birds. OTHER ACTIVITIES: The Section again co-operated with the Gower Ornithological Society in producing the Glamorgan Bird Report for 1963, which was somewhat longer than in the previous year on account of the increased volume of records received. NATIONAL ORGANISATIONS: The Section renewed its corporate membership of the B.T.O., R.S.P.B., the Glamorgan Naturalists' Trust, the Friends of the Museum and the Wildfowl Trust. Donations were made to the World Wildlife Fund (five guineas), the National Museum of Walef; Extension Fund (second instalment of five guineas) and the Monmouthshire Naturalists' Trust (two guineas) MEMBERSHIP: Membership of the Section at the end of the session was 275, comprising 239 adults and 36 juniors.
