Morgan Rees, M.A. "Arctic Cod Migration (Young People's Lecture) Roy Saunders "Exploring in Western Nepal" James Burnet "Porpoises and Dolphins" Dr. K. M. Backhouse "Fauna of Central and South America" Peter D. Jenkins "Birds, Life and Sites in East Jordan" George Shannon "Rebirth of Llandaff Cathedral" George G. Pace, M.A., F.S.A., F.R.I.B.A. "Plant Life on the Pembrokeshire Bird Islands" (Eleanor Vachell Memorial Lecture) Dr. Mary E. Gillham, B.Sc. FILM EVENING The following films were shown on 3rd October: "Wild Highlands "-Depicted the wild life in the Scottish Highlands. "The Golden Lands" — Showed life and industries in Far Eastern Countries. ATTENDANCE The average attendance at the meetings was 155, ranging from 273 (17th October) to 93 (14th November). PRESIDENT'S RECEPTION The Annual Presidential Reception was held in the National Museum of Wales on Thursday 5th December. About 200 members and their guests were received by the Director and Mrs. John anc the President and Mrs. Shepherd. Dr. Gordon Irvine and his friends provided the music. Buffe' refreshments were served. The Society is grateful to the Council of the National Museum for permissioi to hold the function there and to the Staff for their help in ensuring a successful evening.
