FIELD MEETINGS During the year Field Meetings were arranged to Lavernock Point (September), Tally hunt (October), Barry Old Harbour (November), Chew Valley Reservoir (December), Whiteford Point (January), S.C.O.W. Reservoir (February), Llangorse and Talybont (March), Hensol (April), Tally hunt and Forest of Dean (May), Ystradfellte (June), and Worms Head (July). In addition a series of Saturday afternoon walks were arranged by Mrs. Heathcote and Mrs. Collings, and Mr. Atkin continued the monthly Sunday morning walks around Dinas Powis Woods. Members again repeated the B.T.O. Breeding Season Census of Common Birds at Pancross Farm, Llancarfan. The Hon. Secretary attended a conference on census methods and results at the B.T.O. Headquarters, Tring, on behalf of the Section. A new feature was a survey of the bird population of Bute Park undertaken with the object of assessing changes in bird life since 1905-10. OTHER ACTIVITIES During the year the third Glamorgan Bird Report (1964) was produced in collaboration with the Gower Ornithological Society. Preparations were also in hand for a revision of the Birds of Glamorgan to appear in 1967 to coincide with the centenary of the Cardiff Naturalists' Society. In particular efforts were being made to encourage members to obtain records for the north of the county. Individuals continued to support the winter Wildfowl counts, and various enquiries promoted by the British Trust for Ornithology. The Section renewed its corporate membership of the B.T.O., R.S.P.B., Glamorgan Naturalists' Trust, Wildfowl Trust and Friends of the Museum, while donations were made to the World Wildlife Fund (five guineas) and B.T.O. Special Appeal (five guineas). MEMBERSHIP Membership of the Section at the end of the session was 289, comprising 243 adults and 46 juniors. D. GRIFFIN, Hon. Secretary
