Johnson 12th January 1971 The Achievements of European Conservation Year Peter Schofield 9th February Members' Evening 9th March Falconry Philip Glazier OUTDOOR MEETINGS Field Meetings were arranged to Steart Point (September), Whiteford Burrows (October), Tregaron Bog (November), Llandegfedd Resevoir (January), Slimbridge (February), Kenfig Pool (March), Lavernock Point (April), Portland Bill and the New Forest (May), Cwm Ddu and Elegug Stack (June), and by boat to Lundy Island (August). A Tally Hunt was held in December. Monthly Saturday afternoon walks were arranged by Mrs. Heathcote, and Mr. Philip Atkin continued the Sunday morning walks in Dinas Powis woods, arranged for members of the Section and the Young Ornithologists Club. Much further progress was made on the B.T.O. Atlas Project, and members took part in the Winter Duck Count for the Wildfowl Trust, the Birds of Estuaries Enquiry and the Heronry Census, both for the B.T.O. OTHER ACTIVITIES Mr. J. E. Cox has taken over the Editorship of the Glamorgan Annual Bird Report from Mrs. Heathcote. The ninth edition has been prepared this year again in association with Gower Ornithological Society. It includes first records for the county of the Bluethroat and Temminck's Stint. FILM PREMIERE The Section co-operated with the R.S.P.B. to arrange the Welsh Film Premiere of the latest release of R.S.P.B. films. This resulted in a very well-attended showing of Kites are Flying and The Lonely Level, on 7th April 1971. MEMBERSHIP The number of members of the Section at 31st August, 1971 was 256 full members, 40 junior and 1 Honorary member, making a total of 297. K. W. HENSHALL, Hon.
