research will be communicated in due course to the members and the public at large. In a field near Hen Neuadd Farm, Abercrave, during some digging operations on 25 April 1955, one of the workmen unearthed a very unusual type of metal implement. Fortunately, it was given to Mr. W. H. Morgan, B.A., Headmaster of Penrhos C.P. School, who takes great interest in early historical remains. Mr. Morgan consulted Dr. Savory of the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff, and the implement was identified as a Bronze-age socketed axehead, probably manufactured in the neighbourhood in the 5 th or 6th century.
