Navigating Welsh-language publications may prove difficult for those unfamiliar with the vocabulary. Providing translations is beyond the scope of the project, but some common words are listed below. There are also online dictionaries available.
In the Welsh alphabet, the digraphs ch, dd, ff, ng, ll, ph, rh, and th are treated as separate letters, so in a Welsh alphabetic list Llandovery is listed after Longleat. In Welsh the initial letters of words are subject to lenition or elision depending on grammatical context, so that the word caer (fort) may appear in the text as caer, chaer, or gaer.
